Comment: This firm respected in construction is expanding its existing client relationships, e.g. to a well-known construction company which it advises on several large residential construction projects. But new clients also rely on this firm, incl. for BIM: at its headquarters in Berlin KNH advised on general planner contracts with regard to their suitability for BIM. The Essen team gained a number of new project developers, supporting them in construction projects and also in connection with architects’ law issues.
Development potential: Despite its impressive instructions, the newest KNH office in Essen is still in the shadow of the Frankfurt and Berlin teams. Closer cooperation among offices could raise its profile, esp. given how few prominent construction practices are active in the Ruhr Valley.
Recommended: Ralf Kemper (“pleasant negotiating partner”, “cautious”, “sees things through”, competitors), Dr. Steffen Hochstadt, Volker Nitschke, Dr. Alexander Wronna.
Practice: Construction advice, project development and architects’ law. Also litigation, transactions, public procurement, public law, rent law. (5 equity partners, 4 salary partners, 6 associates, plus real estate and public law)
Clients: ? Public companies on bids for BIM projects; project developer on architects’ law; residential building company on major restoration project; a construction company on various residential plans; a daily newspaper on construction of a publishing and editing building in central Berlin.
