Comment: Besides its original focus on small to midsized PE deals, this firm recommended for M&A is now an established player in strategic M&A. This was shown in advice to regular client Lazada and the large-volume CIT Rail/VTG deal, where the lead role was played by a recently appointed German equity partner, alongside the London office. The relevance of some German partners for the firm as a whole was also seen in transactions in the healthcare sector, which increasingly involve the Chinese market. The Frankfurt investment and tax teams saw a certain degree of partner fluctuation, but this only affected the transaction practice on the periphery.
