SKW SCHWARZ

Comment: SKW comes recommended in trademarks and unfair competition and is taking an increasingly structured approach to practice development. SKW is successfully pushing interdisciplinary and interoffice integration: the firm consolidated its connection to Bayer and landed new clients like Webasto in formal trademark law. Litigation often keeps the practice busy, e.g. for Procter & Gamble and a furniture manufacturer. SKW is on a drive towards expansion, esp. in Berlin: the beginning of 2017 saw the arrival of renowned trademark lawyer Hildebrandt from Lubberger, who brought well-known clients like toy manufacturer Steiff and Volkswagen Financial Services. With his specialty in formal trademark law and infringement proceedings, he is a good addition to the practice. The fact that he is to move to the Munich office eventually can only be good for internal cooperation. Further reinforcement for the litigation practice will come in the shape of Redeker, who is to move from Noerr with counsel Dr. Sascha Pres at the end of 2017. Frankfurt partner Dr. Philipp Heigl was hired by his client Deutsche Vermögensberatung as general counsel, but he will remain active for SKW in an of counsel capacity.
