LINKLATERS

Comment: This firm highly recommended for restructuring covers a broad range of work, often with an international flavor. But since the move of Kolja von Bismarck and two associates to Sidley in Munich, it has lacked a figurehead for the restructuring practice, which is significant given the subdued market development. In the year’s few major restructuring cases, there were some in which Linklaters played no or just a minor role. But on the plus side, the firm boasts an in-depth specialty in the lucrative niches of bank restructuring and insolvency-related litigation. Its expert knowledge, cultivated patiently over years, in EU-controlled bank restructuring is paying off – not only in proceedings related to Germany: Frankfurt esp. works on such cases internationally.
