ASHURST

Comment: This recommended practice for structured finance won a prominent new client in Deutsche Bank, which entrusted it with the implementation of EMIR in a flagship regulatory project. In Austria, where such specialization is rare, the team around practice head Krug advised Erste Group on all structured programs. The practice won a designated expert for auto-loan securitizations in Dr. Martin Kaiser, who joined with a team from Baker & McKenzie. The recommended practice for debt issues has distanced itself from the traditional program work and has now wholly dedicated itself to advice on specialized topics. One example of this is its work for Patrimonium, incl. on the issuance of 13 collateralized bonds. The practice was able to demonstrate its productive cooperation with the banking practice through its banking advice on a bond to finance the development of Autobahn A6.
Recommended: Dr. Tobias Krug (“well-established, productive cooperation, reliable and very efficient team”, client), Dr. Martin Kaiser (“pleasant to deal with”, competitor).
Practice: Advice on securitized derivatives, but also on structured registered bonds and equity-linked bonds, as well as warrant and convertible bonds. (3 partners, 6 associates)
