GLADE MICHEL WIRTZ

Comment: Highly recommended corporate practice whose work at Deutsche Bank and Daimler has succeeded in building the reputation of the Düsseldorf firm to make it one of the leading smaller firms in the field. The relationship to Daimler continues to broaden and – in the words of a competitor – “they’re firmly in the saddle”. The combination of high-end stock corporation and takeover law capacity means the firm is a real alternative for major corporates (e.g. Haniel). The fact that all the partners are regarded as interchangable for complex corporate work and transactions is also a rarity in the market. Parallel to the corporate practice there is also a restructuring practice which is becoming ever more visible in the Rheinland and is acting for prominent insolvency administrators.
Strengths: Stock corporation law and capital markets.
Recommended: Dr. Achim Glade (“good negotiator”, client), Dr. Arndt Michel, Dr. Marco Sustmann, Dr. Andreas Merkner, Dr. Jochen Markgraf.
Practice: Ongoing corporate advice to a solid mix of German and international Mittelstand clients and concerns. Restructuring, corporate disputes and stock corporation law and capital markets. (5 partners, 2 counsel, 7 associates)
Clients: ?? Haniel on JV between CWS-Boco and Rentokil; SiteLog on JV with Zech Group; Apothekerverband Nordrhein on restructuring; Etris Bank on insolvency of Praktiker; Daimler on Capital Markets Test Case Act proceedings; Deutsche Bank supervisory board on regulatory proceedings. Ongoing advice to Bose, Gea (incl. AGM).
