SULLIVAN & CROMWELL

Comment: The highly recommended office of this US firm is impressing observers in its core disciplines. It was highly visible recently in capital markets law, where it remains a top player, as well as in M&A advice. The best examples are the IPOS of Delivery Hero and Landis+Gyr and the planned merger of Praxair and Linde. In addition to its outstanding presence in public M&A, it is increasingly trying to establish itself in the private M&A sector. It has not yet achieved its goals here, partly due to the fact that the current staff cannot keep up with the increasing transaction flow. But the firm has recognized this and is expanding its associate level gradually. One lawyer, who specializes in M&A and equity capital markets law, was named counsel. The firm’s sole German office also benefits in transactions from the new Brussels office’s EU antitrust practice.
