BERWIN LEIGHTON PAISNER

Comment: Last year’s new hires paid off for this firm, which is recommended in real estate, esp. in project development (e.g. work for Panattoni). This development comes at just the right time for BLP to profit from the current market trend. BLP is further honing its setup: April saw the arrival of restructuring expert Till Buschmann from Dentons, who brought some notable clients with him. The firm also landed family offices and project developers in the core field of transactions, thus diversifying its client portfolio. BLP lost up-and-coming partner Dr. Fabian Hartwich to Mayer Brown, but has another young partner in its ranks who has also been a notary for two years and enjoys growing market recognition for this.
Strengths: Real estate transactions.
Recommended: Roland Fabian, Hanns-William Mülsch (“very professional”, competitor), Dr. Norbert Impelmann (“seasoned”, competitor); increasingly: Tina Siebenhaar (“very good notary”, “pragmatic, fast”, competitors).
Practice: Transactions, restructuring and refinancing/financing real estate portfolios. (8 partners, 15 associates, 2 of counsel, plus finance)
Clients: ?? Panattoni on development of logistics centers; Falkensee Center on shopping center project; Invista Europe on shopping center sale; Van Caem on office building sale; CBRE on shopping center sale.
