BBL Bernsau Brockdorff & Partner

Comment: This firm, which is highly recommended in insolvency administration and corporate rescue, made huge strides in Berlin by hiring six lawyers from LB Rechtsanwälte. These are chiefly active in administration (east Germany and Nordrhein-Westfalen), but the experienced, well-connected team also added to the advisory branch’s capacities. With its long tradition of blending administration and corporate rescue, BBL is esp. well positioned following the reform of the Act Serving the Further Facilitation of the Restructuring of Companies. BBL also works in an operational capacity at companies in crisis, e.g. Memsys Group in Munich. For advisory work, Peter Jark joined from DLA Piper, bringing international contacts, a transaction focus and, unusually for BBL, an international client base.
Strengths: Blend of financial and operational corporate rescue.
