Comment: Recommended corporate practice, which has for some years been unusual for its capital markets practice. With the decrease in issuing work the practice now places more emphasis on ongoing advice (incl. capital-markets-related compliance) and handles more objection proceedings. The client base has also been extended into public limited partnerships. The other parts of the practice are still the ongoing advice to the Mittelstand and subsidiaries of international concerns, which is linked closely to the commercial/contracts practice, and the standing advice to Chinese companies in Germany. The latter continues to grow, thanks to four Chinese lawyers.
Strengths: Broad corporate competence focusing on capital markets; strong German-Chinese practice.
Recommended: Norbert Bröcker (“impressive boutique lawyer on the interface of capital markets and corporate”, client), Claus Eßers (“has built up a very good China practice”, competitor).
Practice: Broad client base, esp. in the chemicals, metalwork, IT, banking and auto supply sectors. Increasing international activity (incl. China and the UK). Also AGM advice and dispute resolution, capital markets. (13 partners, 5 associates)
Clients: ?? Definitiv SE on restructuring of secondary offering and JV in China; Huch Rheinland on investment cooperation agreement with Tianfu Area Chengdu Administrative Committee; Sumec Europe on German expansion; Carboref on JV and outsourcing productions; EVB Everbase on startup.
