Legal Counsel (m/f/d) in Group Legal

Job Purpose/Role
Group Legal provides business-oriented highly specialized legal advice to the Management Board, the Supervisory Board as well as to other departments of Allianz SE and assumes responsibility for legal matters that have groupwide relevance or require a centralized decision-making process. Group Legal has 24 fully qualified lawyers, which are organized in different teams. The vacancy to be filled is within the team "Competition, IP, IT & Digital Initiatives". The focus is on the provision of high quality legal advice in the area of German and European Competition Law. In addition, candidate must be open and prepared to work in further areas of law, e.g. IT/Digital and contract law.

Key Responsibilities
Advising Allianz SE as well as OEs in competition law matters (incl. merger control), actively supporting the groupwide antitrust compliance and projects/initiatives with a focus on IT/Digital/Partnerships.

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
Qualification

  • Fully qualified German lawyer (state exams "vollbefriedigend" or better) or equivalent foreign qualification
  • Additional academic qualification (doctorate, LLM) useful
  • Excellent command of English and German language in all forms of communication as well as understanding of information and digital technology required
  • Additional foreign languages and insurance background desirable

Experience & Key skills

  • 2 to 3 years professional experience in competition law (Germany, EU)
  • Proven openness to familiarize with other areas of law
  • Strong analytical problem solving, communication and negotiation skills; assertiveness
  • Pronounced ability to work autonomously and pro-actively within pre-defined parameters
  • Proven team player across different cultures with ability to share skills and knowledge
  • Proficient user of Microsoft office packages
