With our diverse team of 27 fully qualified lawyers, we provide strategic legal advice to the senior management of Allianz SE and Group companies and assume responsibility for legal and regulatory matters of group-wide relevance.

The Opportunity

As the Corporate Law & Governance Team within Group Legal is expanding, we look for an experienced lawyer with a focus on corporate and regulatory law to join our Team. Your key responsibility will be to handle all regulatory aspects related to the governance of Allianz SE and Allianz Group. Aside of the legal aspects, this will provide you a deep understanding of the strategic developments at Allianz Group and give you the opportunity to closely interact with numerous stakeholders of the entire Allianz Group, including senior executives. In addition, you will advise on related questions in the course of projects, support respective steering bodies and contribute to the exchange with supervisory authorities.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily business will involve

  • Regulatory governance matters, in particular in connection with European law, including monitoring of legal developments in this area.
  • Providing high quality advice thereon to the Board of Management and other relevant stakeholders in the Group (e.g. Group Center Heads, Business Divisions, Operating Entities);
  • Preparation und steering of the annual regulatory governance review including internal policies (Group and Allianz SE), coverage of meetings of the Group Governance and Control Committee as well as supporting matters of the Supervisory Board of Allianz SE, regulatory reporting of governance related matters.
  • Ongoing steering of the Policy Framework and the Committee Framework;
  • Coverage of respective requests by the lead German regulator, contribution to onboarding of entities and conduct of quality controls.

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

Qualification
Your Profile

  • 3+ years of practical experience in the field of corporate and governance law;
  • Outstanding law degree (e.g. both German state examinations with a grade “vollbefriedigend” or above or equivalent non-German legal degree);
  • Strong analytical skills, supported by an entrepreneurial mindset and well-articulated points of view as well as the ability to translate abstract requirements into practical guidance that meets business needs;
  • High integrity and an excellent team player;
  • Organized and process driven, with the ability to work independently with little guidance, but an understanding of when matters need escalation within or outside Group Legal;
  • Fluent business English (verbal and in writing), willingness to work in a digital environment and to develop respective IT-user skills is expected;
  • An additional academic qualification (e.g. LL.M. or doctorate degree) is a plus

Experience & Key skills

The ideal candidate already has worked in a legal / regulatory department of an international company, in a leading law firm or in an executive position of a Supervisory Authority, has gained experience in cross-functional / interdisciplinary teams with focus on steering a multinational company from a regulatory point of view and is willing to work determinedly and independently following high quality standards.
